A smooth alabaster cylinder sits on a slim brass stem and a round brass disc base, so the light reads as a soft column of stone rather than a bright point. The shade is cut from natural alabaster and lit from within, which brings out the warm veining running through each piece. At 10 inches tall it suits a nightstand, a console or a desk corner without crowding the surface. Plug-in with the cord included, and offered in eight metal finishes. Every shade is cut from natural stone, so the veining and translucency differ piece to piece.
